Today is my buddy's birthday - I known her for 20 years. There are a lot of memories about her during my growing up years back in my hometown.
- I remember going to her small, private birthday party of 5-10 person every year in primary school years (I wonder if she remember coming to mine as much as I do to hers).
- Her place is just 7 minutes walk away from my house.
- I remember the outdoor basketball court at her house with a very big compound.
- Her swing downstairs we used to hang out.
- The first time I know what play doo is.
- Her likings of lego and her lego collection.
- How I liked agar-agar as her mum makes that every year for her birthday party.
- I gave her a hand-made soft-toy tortoise (by an aunt) for one of her birthday which she ties a string around the neck and pull it around the house.
- I gave her a mushroom soft-toy (with reason I won’t disclose here, haha)
- We brought each other a christmas gift one year in Toy'R'us.
- She taking me a ride in her motorbike & attempt to teach me when I went back to hometown many years ago.
- The way she played basketball in school, holding the basketball all way to the back and using all her might to throw it to the loop *everyone around her will evacuate 50cm away from her coz scared to be hit*
- One box of snail mails she wrote to me over the years I moved to KL.
- She always bringing tit-bits to school and sharing with me.
- Etc
Some people called us inseparable as we studied the same primary school till secondary school until I moved to KL. We seem to hang out a lot. Then, she became an Australian PR. We talked once a year at least and she always called me on my birthday. Undeniably, there’s a long stretch of time we are not together, having different kind of life, mingling with different group of people and perhaps different values in life. Yet, somehow we cling on that fate and friendship we had when we are young.
Guess what, I am dangling that thing you gave me in my car. Thanks for the prayers and wishes you have unconditionally given me. I wish you well too. Last but not least,
Happy birthday!!!
